The Role
As a Java/Scala Developer at Capco, you’ll play a key role in building and enhancing enterprise-grade platforms for Wealth & Asset Management clients. You’ll work closely with architects, product partners, and delivery teams to develop scalable, well-structured solutions using modern Java technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and enhance backend applications using Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate/JPA
- Collaborate with System Architects to review and contribute to program and subsystem designs
- Build and consume APIs, applying strong data structures and algorithmic principles
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams alongside Product, QA, UAT, and PMO partners
- Support high-quality delivery through testing, documentation, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, including Spring (Core, Boot), JDBC, and Hibernate/JPA
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL in distributed environments
- Clear English communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork
Bonus Points For
- Background in Securities, Banking, or Financial Services
- Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and Java IDEs (preferably IntelliJ IDEA)
- Familiarity with issue tracking tools and knowledge-sharing platforms (e.g. Confluence)
- Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka or other message queues
- Experience with Oracle databases or similar enterprise data platforms
