This Position reports to:
HR Business PartnerPurpose of the Role
Support the delivery of HR operations and employee experience within the Motion division, ensuring smooth execution of HR processes, onboarding, communications, events, and HR projects in alignment with ABB policies, systems, and values. The role will be reporting to the HRBP of Motion Canada.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
HR Operations & Systems (Core Accountability)- Assist on end‑to‑end HR operational activities in Workday for the Motion division (employee lifecycle, onboarding actions, data accuracy)
- Ensure HR transactions and documentation are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with ABB policies
- Coordinate and deliver HR onboarding for new joiners, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience
- Manage organizational and new‑joiner announcements, ensuring timely and professional communications
- Act as a key point of contact for employees and managers on onboarding‑related HR processes
- Support manager and leadership meetings, including:
- Agenda preparation
- Coordination and logistics
- Minutes of meeting & Follow‑up on actions and decisions
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and internal stakeholders to support business priorities
- Manage expenses and purchase orders (POs) in line with ABB financial and governance requirements
- Plan, organize, and coordinate events, including invitations, logistics, and stakeholder coordination
- Contribute to ABB Canada events, including philanthropy and engagement initiatives
- Support event planning activities that promote ABB culture, values, and community involvement
- Participate in and support HR projects and initiatives, including process improvements and cross‑functional activities
- Contribute to planning, coordination, and implementation activities within defined scope
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience in human resources, with a good understanding of basic HR processes
- Education in human resources or a related field
- Strong operational rigor and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured manner
- Service- and employee-oriented mindset, demonstrating strong attention to the needs of employees and managers
- Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality management, particularly when dealing with sensitive HR matters
- Collaborative mindset and adaptability, with a proactive approach to continuous learning, change management, and stakeholder partnership
