Job Description

The Health, Safety and Environment – HSE- Advisor plays a strategic role in terms of support, prevention and health and safety management within the organization. The incumbent will be called upon to enhance managers and employees’ awareness and guide them in their choices in terms of health and safety in the framework of engineering projects. This role will be primarily based out of our offices in Vancouver and could travelling between various locations up to 30% of the time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Promote the firm’s culture regarding HSE
- Accompany and support employees and managers on work sites
- Support the risk assessment process and participate in project planning when needed
- Issue recommendations in terms of HSE and ensure OH&S legal compliance form for Western Canadian operations
- Develop and review safe work procedures in partnership with employees
- Support HSE Committees in their work, lead investigations following incidents, near-misses, or other type of events
- Participate in the COR audit process & in ongoing continuous improvement of CIMA+ HSE management system, develop training programs and facilitate training sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HSE or the equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of HSE
- Experience on construction sites or industrial environment
- Have a Certificate of Recognition (COR) and a valid driver’s licence
- In-depth knowledge of legislation and best industry practices in Western Canada
- Strong communication ability (spoken and written)
- CRSP is an asset
The expected salary for this position is from $65,000 to $90,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
