We’re looking for an experienced HR Generalist to provide broad HR support, advise employees and leaders, and contribute to the continued development of our workplace culture.

If you enjoy solving people-related challenges, building trusted relationships, and working across multiple areas of HR, this could be your next move.

Why work for Encepta?

Encepta is a growing Canadian infrastructure company providing planning, design and data-collection services to telecommunications providers, utilities and municipalities. We combine technical expertise, innovative tools and practical field knowledge to help our clients build better networks and more connected communities.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers
  • Support complex employee relations and performance matters
  • Manage benefits, leaves and workplace cases
  • Lead HR policies, programs and improvement initiatives
  • Support employee engagement, wellness and inclusion
  • Use workforce data to identify trends and inform decisions
  • Help shape a consistent and employee-focused workplace

We also offer:

  • Impactful Work: Make a tangible difference as we enhance global connectivity.
  • Dynamic Team: Collaborate with skilled professionals passionate about innovation and problem-solving.
  • Growth and Development: Advance your career in an environment that nurtures professional growth and values each individual’s contribution.
  • Flexible Work Model: Enjoy the best of both worlds with our hybrid work setup—combining remote work flexibility with productive in-person interactions on key collaboration days.

What You’ll Work On

You will provide broad HR support across employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance, and employee engagement. Work closely with employees and managers to provide practical advice, interpret policies and ensure HR practices align with Canadian legislation and organizational objectives. You’ll also:

  • Advise employees and managers on workplace and employee relations matters
  • Support performance management and coach managers through challenging conversations
  • Conduct fair and confidential workplace investigations
  • Manage benefits and complex leave cases, including STD, LTD and workers’ compensation
  • Support health, safety, wellness, learning and engagement initiatives
  • Update HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks
  • Support change management, culture and inclusion initiatives
  • Monitor employment legislation and regulatory changes
  • Analyse HR metrics, including turnover, engagement and workforce demographics
  • Occasionally travel to other offices, meetings or professional development events

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • 3-6 years of HR experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment standards, human rights and health and safety legislation
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations
  • Knowledge of benefits, disability management, and employee leave processes
  • Strong judgement, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience working with HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • The ability to interpret policies and analyse HR data
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The confidence to manage multiple priorities and complex HR matters independently
  • A completed or in-progress CPHR designation, or another relevant HR certification, is considered an asset.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • You care about creating a fair, supportive and consistent employee experience.
  • You bring sound judgement, discretion and empathy to complex employee and workplace matters.
  • You balance practical day-to-day HR support with a desire to improve policies, processes and programs.
  • You enjoy partnering with managers, providing clear guidance and helping them navigate people-related decisions with confidence.
  • You stay curious about evolving HR practices, employment legislation and how data and technology can improve the employee experience.
