Whitewater's People and Culture Department is looking for a candidate to join us in the following role: 


Position:                           Global People & Talent Partner

Status:                               Regular Full Time, 40 hours a week

Location:                           Richmond, BC, Canada (relocating to Vancouver Downtown - mid 2027) 

Reports to:                        Senior Manager, Global People & Culture

Reporting to Senior Manager, Global People and Culture, this role acts as a specialist and advisor to business leaders and employees across multiple regions, driving talent, performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. The role ensures people strategies align with business objectives while fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture and delivering a consistent employee experience globally.


You are creative, adaptable, people-oriented and a problem solver, ideally someone who gets energy from finding solutions – it just comes naturally to you. This position has no direct reports.


YOUR ROLE:    


  • Build meaningful and trusted relationships with the teams and provide support on everything from team engagement and development to performance and career progression.
  • Partner closely with the teams to understand organizational challenges, identify root causes, and develop practical, people-focused solutions that support business objectives.
  • Support the company-wide initiatives including performance and compensation review cycles, rewards and recognition programs, employee communications, engagement surveys, and policy development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver employee engagement and learning initiatives, including Lunch & Learn sessions, wellness programs, and other organizational development activities.
  • Play an active role in talent acquisition by partnering with hiring managers to attract, assess, and hire high-caliber candidates to align with WhiteWater's culture and business needs.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer preparation, onboarding, and orientation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records on BambooHR - changes in roles, teams, promotions, transfers, reporting structures etc.
  • Administer and support the performance management process, guiding teams through review cycles including calibration, promotion, and compensation discussions.
  • Conduct job evaluations, as needed, for new or existing roles with established methodology, and support market benchmarking, job classification, and compensation reviews.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the organizational growth strategy and associated talent needs, both short and long term, and bring forward talent acquisition solutions to support business plans.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Willingness to participate in company committees including Health & Safety, DEI, Wellness, and Sustainability initiatives.
  • Maintain in depth up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements, assess risk and alternative solutions and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of People & Culture processes, systems, and employee experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; WhiteWater is an innovative and dynamic company and therefore the position and tasks may evolve with the organizational needs and your expertise.

Qualifications and Experience:   

  • Bachelors degree in in Human Resources or equivalent education and experience. 
  • CPHR or working towards a designation 
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience in a large and complex organization.
  • Strong understanding of Employment Standards (ESA), Human Rights Code, WorkSafe BC regulations, and Human Resources best practices.
  • Global mobility experience with multiple country employment laws, cultural norms, benefits and immigration laws. Specific experience with Canada, United States, Germany, India, United Arab Emirates, Middle East, Turkey and China is preferred. 

Competencies, Skills & Abilities:

  • Global recruiting experience with a solid understanding of global mobility, expatriate and immigration related laws.
  • Familiarity with social media, innovative resources and on-line tools for sourcing candidates
  • Ability to lead conflict resolution, including coaching, facilitation, mediation, and relationship management.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to align HR strategies and organizational goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence strategic outcomes.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to identify and recommend creative solutions.
  • Ability to work with considerable independence, initiative and discretion; demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Regulation knowledge an asset. 
  • Ability to research, analyze information and data and make recommendations.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, and HRIS software (BambooHR); knowledge of SharePoint is an asset.
