About the roleWe’re looking for a Global Marketing Lead to play a central role in delivering Destination Canada’s global marketing initiatives across global markets and audiences. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution – turning direction into clear plans, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality delivery of integrated marketing programs at scale.
As a Global Marketing Lead, you will lead the coordination and execution of complex, multi-market initiatives, working closely with global marketing leadership, cross-functional HQ teams, in-market teams, and external partners. You’ll bring structure and clarity to ambiguity, translating inputs from multiple stakeholders into cohesive plans, deliverables, and campaigns that are executed consistently and effectively across markets. This role is critical to ensuring our global marketing efforts are well-coordinated, insight-driven, and delivered with excellence. You’ll help drive alignment, maintain momentum across initiatives, and continuously improve the tools, processes, and ways of working that enable strong execution.
Key accountabilities- Leads the execution and delivery of multi-market marketing initiatives and partnerships, translating strategic direction into clear plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Project manages complex, cross-functional marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment and quality delivery across internal teams, in-market stakeholders, and external partners.
- Consolidates inputs from multiple markets and stakeholders into cohesive deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment to strategic objectives.
- Monitors implementation progress and supports performance tracking and reporting, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Plan and facilitates regular coordination forums (e.g., status meetings, planning sessions) to ensure alignment and momentum.
- Develops and maintains standardized tools, templates, and processes to enable consistent execution (e.g., planning documents, reporting frameworks, presentations).
- Acts as a key liaison between global marketing leadership, cross functional HQ markets teams, and in-market teams, ensuring clarity of expectations, timelines, and outputs.
- Provides executional guidance and support on campaigns and initiatives in global markets as needed.
- Leads the execution of global brand and cluster partnerships (e.g., media and platform collaborations), as well as global travel trade projects, ensuring deliverables are completed to a high standard, on time, and consistently across markets.
- Leads the development and standardization of global marketing deliverables (e.g., tactical plans, C-suite reports, performance reports, flagship presentations) across all markets.
- Acts as the central coordination point for in-market execution of global initiatives, supporting markets in adapting and implementing plans.
- Graduation from a recognized university in Marketing, Communications or other relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in marketing, including coordinating and delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and timelines.
- Knowledge of marketing principles, practices, and ecosystem, including paid, earned, and owned channels.
- Exceptional project management skills: ability to manage competing priorities, track progress, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Stakeholder alignment and influence: ability to build alignment and drive progress across diverse stakeholders without direct authority
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Problem solving and navigating ambiguity: ability to identify issues, work through ambiguity, and develop practical solutions to maintain progress and delivery
- Execution translation: ability to convert high-level direction into clear, actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables aligned to objectives
- Ability to synthesize inputs from multiple sources into clear, structured deliverables (e.g., plans, reports, presentations).
- Experience working with external partners (e.g., agencies, media, commercial or industry partners) and supporting partnership execution.
- Experience working with agencies of record or external marketing partners.
- Experience in the tourism, travel, or destination marketing industry.
- Knowledge and experience with travel-trade channels and industry
- Experience working in international and/or matrixed organizations
- French/English bilingualism
Salary range: $92,660 - $115,825
Within the range, the base pay offered is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills and relevant education/experience. Please note starting salaries for new hires typically fall between the minimum and mid-point of the range, to support internal equity and allow room for progression as employees grow and excel in their roles. The range above reflects base pay only and does not include the competitive at-risk pay program and benefits that we offer!
