About the Position

Based in Chilliwack, BC, and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst will be part of the Western Canadian CFO team, with offices in Burnaby, Chilliwack, and Winnipeg. In this role, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for all aspects of our Home Warranty segment accounting cycle. Responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries for Warranty branches, including sales, tax, and banking entries as well as accrual/balance sheet entries

  • Maintain and reconcile GL balance sheet accounts and record corrections to GL; collaborate with the Warranty team regarding required adjustments

  • Supervise entry of cash receipts and disbursements

  • Serve as primary point of contact between HCW Finance and central transaction center for Warranty related matters

  • Manage Warranty banking including transfers and wire payments – coordinate with Treasury & Warranty executive on cash balances and banking administration

  • Work with Warranty & HCW operations teams for Warranty service & process changes

  • Enhance existing reports and develop new reporting tools as requested by management

  • Participate in annual budget process

  • Ad hoc projects and assignments as required

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • Active enrollment in CPA designation program is strongly preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas), with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a finance or accounting role

  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems is an asset

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-directed and accountable, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with rigorous attention to detail and accuracy

The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $68,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
