What you will do

The Field Project Manager will lead install projects in commercial, educational, healthcare and industrial facilities for our Building Solutions North America Division. Provide expertise in areas including project management, setup of local project offices, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation. Maintain control of schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. May coach and mentor more junior project managers. This hybrid position will be based at the branch with travel and work on project sites within the province. Working remote from home office will be available.

How you will do it

  • Ensure safety and industry training is current for all installers and that they have all the appropriate information prior to arrival on the job site.

  • Ensure projects are closed on time and in scope. Ensure that work outside scope is identified for change orders.

  • Provide all appropriate field documentation to close out projects.

  • Maintain schedule of installers and track hours assigned to projects.

  • Provide accurate project status updates during project review meetings.

  • Conduct regular job site safety walkthroughs, evaluations and accident investigations.

What we look for

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3+ years’ field project management experience in Building construction primarily focusing on the installation of electronic fire alarm security systems, and/or communication systems.

  • Proficient in Project Management software, financial accounting systems, MS Office applications, Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment.

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record

  • Available for travel locally to and from project locations. Projects may exist outside of assigned geography.

Preferred

  • Project Management Certifications such as PMP or Gold Seal is preferred

  • 5+ years’ project management experience with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proven experience with document control, electrical projects or an electrical background

  • Ability to practice patience in the workplace, listen, and ask questions with a positive demeanour.
