ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to lead a team of developers building scalable backend and frontend systems that power our in-house Booking Management System (BMS) and Salesforce integration.
This is a hands-on role. The Technical Lead will not only provide leadership and mentorship but will also code daily as a staff engineer within the team. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable designing system architecture, guiding engineers, and writing production-level code themselves.
The role also requires strong experience in collaborating with and managing offshore development teams, ensuring productivity, quality, and alignment across time zones.
In addition, this leader will champion the use of AI-assisted code generation and bring experience with machine learning (ML) concepts to strengthen our technology capabilities and delivery velocity.
Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 CAD annually, based on experience and qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor, and grow a hybrid team of in-house and offshore full-stack engineers.
- Provide technical and strategic guidance while maintaining a collaborative, inclusive culture.
- Code daily as an active contributor - taking on feature development, code reviews, debugging, and technical problem-solving.
- Drive backend and frontend execution, aligning with organizational and business goals.
- Champion engineering best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and maintainability.
- Guide system design decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with long-term architecture.
- Introduce and scale AI code generation tools (e.g., Copilot, Code Whisperer, Claude) to improve developer productivity.
- Identify opportunities to apply machine learning for business workflows, analytics, or customer-facing features.
- Manage communication and coordination with offshore teams, ensuring clarity, accountability, and delivery alignment.
- Partner with Product and QA to ensure testable requirements and high-quality releases.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and report on sprint/release readiness.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing and able to code daily as a staff-level engineer.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development.
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering teams.
- Proven ability to deliver complex technical projects from concept to production.

- Understanding of frontend testing strategies and component-based design.
AI & ML
- Experience using AI-assisted code generation tools to improve productivity.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts and practical applications (predictive analytics, anomaly detection, personalization).
- Ability to collaborate with ML/data engineers to integrate ML into production.
General:
- Experience collaborating with offshore teams across time zones.
- Comfortable with AWS and modern DevOps tools.
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
