Job Description

Join our team of mission-driven energy engineers dedicated to advancing energy conservation programs and projects. As an Energy Engineer-III, you will contribute to energy savings and emissions reduction initiatives through engineering calculations, energy modelling, data analysis and measurement and verification (M&V) activities. You will explore the demand-side management (DSM) potential of innovative technologies and help develop measures for utility programs.

This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects across commercial, institutional, and industrial end-uses, while honing your skills in technical report writing and client engagement. It’s an exciting opportunity to grow as an energy engineer and make a meaningful impact in the energy conservation field at a time of ever-increasing energy demand.

You are an excellent fit for this role if you can..

  • Conduct engineering studies for energy-saving projects and develop technical reports.

  • Compute energy savings by applying standard engineering principles, including physics, mechanics, fan laws, thermodynamics, algebra, and statistics. Review technical reference manuals and evaluation reports from different jurisdictions.

  • Perform energy audits without supervision.

  • Analyze logged and sub-metered energy consumption data.

  • Author IPMVP-compliant M&V plans and reports.

  • Evaluate innovative technologies and determine suitability for DSM programs.

  • Develop and deliver technical training on various energy conservation measures.

  • Lead client and customer engagements and effectively present technical information.

Minimum requirements:

  • An undergraduate Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical)

  • 4+ years in energy management or related experience

  • Energy auditing experience at commercial and industrial facilities

  • Ability to travel within the province and nation wide (5-10%)

Preferred requirements:

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering license (P. Eng.)

  • Measurement & Verification certification (CMVP or equivalent)

  • A graduate/post-graduate degree related to energy engineering, management or science

  • Experience in working with utility-driven energy conservation programs

  • Familiarity with energy data logging and sub-metering

Targeted Salary Range:

$95,000-$105,000

Please Note:

This is a remote position, with a strong preference for those in the western provinces able to travel for client site visits.

For successful candidates who are registered as Engineers-in-Training and actively pursuing their Professional Engineering license, the role will be reclassified as Energy Analyst III, with a corresponding salary adjustment.
