As an intern, you’ll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

Your Opportunity

We have an exciting four-month communications internship opportunity with our Employee Communications team. This position calls for someone who is curious, eager to learn, flexible, and is passionate about using communications to connect people, improve the employee experience, and drive long-term business strategy. In this role, you will work within Stantec’s corporate communications to support a wide range of communications and administrative activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Write, format, and template content in our brand voice and style for various channels to support our communications team
  • Support the development of communications strategies, plans, and materials
  • Create content using templates to assist with North American communications
  • Maintain the team’s document repository and ticketing system to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Work with the Employee Communications team to support general day-to-day efforts and special projects as they arise
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Detail oriented and organized with strong analytical, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and web-based interfaces
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team, as well as independently

Your Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary degree in business, marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, or an equivalent level of experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) will have access to health, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health care spending account, wellness spending account, group registered retirement savings plan, employee stock purchase program, group tax-free savings account, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid time off.
