About Summit

Building the commercial brokerage of the future. Summit is a boutique commercial insurance firm headquartered in Kelowna and serving businesses across Canada. We are a venture-backed, tech-enabled commercial insurance brokerage redefining what it means to be a modern insurance partner. With strong values—Sustainability, Ownership, Transparency, and Impact—we move fast, support one another, and raise the bar for industry standards.

Summit is a team of empowered and high-performing individuals who live our core values every day. Being a part of Summit offers a chance for the right applicant to make a name for themselves, and help build Summit as a leader in the Canadian Commercial Insurance market.

Our Employee Benefits practice is growing — and we’re looking for someone who wants to help build it. This role is for someone who likes the chase, wants ownership, and is looking for real upside — not another title with the same ceiling.

About the role

This is not a “wait for renewals” role. As an Employee Benefits Advisor, you’ll own your pipeline, drive new opportunities, and work directly with decision-makers. You’ll have the support, tools, and flexibility to go out and win business — and you’ll be rewarded for it.

If you’ve got experience but feel stuck at a large firm, or you’ve been on the insurer side and want to move into a revenue-driving advisor role, this is your chance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prospecting and opening doors with business owners and HR leaders
  • Turning conversations into opportunities — and opportunities into clients
  • Designing and presenting group benefits solutions (health, dental, life, A&S, wellness)
  • Managing relationships from first meeting through onboarding and renewals
  • Working closely with carriers and internal teammates to get deals across the line
  • Building a book of business you’re proud of — and growing it

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of employee benefits or group insurance experience
  • Life & A&S license in your home province (we’ll license you elsewhere ASAP)
  • CEBS or GBA designation is an asset
  • You’re comfortable hearing “no” and pushing forward anyway
  • You like autonomy and being accountable for your results
  • You might be:
    • Coming from the insurer/carrier side and ready to sell and advise
    • At a large brokerage or firm where growth feels capped or slow
  • You communicate confidently and can simplify complex benefits discussions
  • You’re organized, driven, and competitive — in a healthy way
What It’s Like Here

We move fast, expect effort, and support people who take ownership. If you want to build something meaningful and be rewarded for it, you’ll feel right at home.

Perks We Offer at Summit
