Your opportunity: We are looking for a Director of People Analytics to harness the full potential of our people data, systems, and technology. In this key role, you’ll lead the vision for people analytics, manage a high-performing team, and use data-driven insights to shape strategic decisions that benefit our people and drive business value. Joining us means playing an instrumental role in transforming our use of data and technology to shape and deliver on a forward-thinking people strategy. Your work will directly support our ability to attract, develop, and retain top industry talent, strengthening our position as an industry leader.


This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The People Operations, Total Rewards, and People Analytics team partners strategically with the business to provide compensation, benefits, systems, analytics, and operational services. We play a critical role in the success and scalability of the people function, driving alignment, evolution, and fostering a culture of belonging that empowers high-performing, strength-based teams and values-driven leadership.

If you were the Director, People Analytics now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Lead People Analytics Strategy: Develop and execute the long-term people analytics strategy, with a roadmap that supports our evolving business needs. Shape our people systems and data ecosystem, integrating advanced analytics into decision-making across the organization.
  • Build and Enable a High-Performing Team: Mentor and lead a team of systems and analytics professionals dedicated to producing actionable insights, fostering data literacy, integrating and optimizing systems, and delivering reporting solutions that support all levels of the organization.
  • Foster Data-Driven Decision Making: Advocate and drive a data-driven culture within the People & Culture (P&C) team and across the business. Design strategies and develop tools to enhance data access, quality, and insight generation.
  • Deliver Analytics Solutions: Build and implement dashboards, reports, and predictive models that inform leadership decisions and monitor the success of people initiatives. Provide advanced analytics capabilities that bring data to life and drive impactful people and business outcomes.
  • Enhance HR Systems: Oversee enhancements within our HRIS platform (Workday) and the consolidation and integration of additional people systems and technologies that improve data integrity, reporting, and insights.
  • Drive Technological Innovation: Identify and implement emerging, best-in-class HR technologies that improve data management, enhance reporting accuracy, streamline system integration and consolidation, and elevate the employee experience across Arc’teryx.
  • Partner with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with the P&C leadership team, our parent company Amer Sports, and senior business leaders to develop and apply data insights aligned with business objectives and initiatives.
  • Support People Strategy: Collaborate with business leaders and P&C partners to develop systems, tools, and data that support across our capabilities, including talent acquisition, talent management, and business partnerships, to directly enable and evolve our talent capabilities.
  • Evolve People Analytics Model: Collaborate with the VP, People Operations, Total Rewards, and People Analytics on future HR technologies and the development and evolution of the people analytics operating model. 

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Refine the 3-year people analytics strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead large-scale people system implementations.
  • Oversee the implementation of a people data lake.
  • Develop self-serve dashboards and reporting capabilities.
  • Advance analytics capabilities and people science initiatives.

Are you our next Director, People Analytics?

  • You have 7-10 years of data analytics experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within HR in retail or a similar industry
  • You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. Data Science, Psychology, HR, Business) or equivalent experience
  • You bring a strong background in HRIS, preferably with Workday
  • You have a high execution focus with a proven track record of delivery
  • You thrive in a high-growth, agile environment, with a collaborative and adaptable approach that puts the team above the individual and drives collective success.
  • You are an excellent communicator, with the ability to translate complex data sets to generate insights and provide actionable recommendations to all levels of stakeholders
  • You are open and approachable with a customer-service mentality, always striving to do what is best for Arc’teryx and our people
  • You embrace a continuous learning mindset, with a passion for growing your skills and supporting the development of your team.
  • You exercise good judgment and consistently operate as an ambassador of the company (leading by example)
