Our Tax Team:

Join a team of 25 dynamic Tax professionals to work on exciting projects that will allow you to develop your technical knowledge as well as your interpersonal and leadership skills.

Our Team is structured in 3 subgroups (US, Canadian, International), all of which report to the VP Tax. Our team is dynamic, encouraging, communicative, and motivated.

Reporting to the Senior Director – Global Taxation

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong organizational skills, is detail-oriented, possesses a strong knowledge of the tax law.  Our working environment is dynamic, and daily tasks include a variety of tax duties. You’ll advise on how Pillar 2 rules impact CAE’s domestic and international businesses to managing the incremental compliance burden.

Responsible for:

  • Oversee and manage CAE’s tax reporting compliance on a global scale;
  • Responsible to manage and coordinate work with the Tax team and external consultants in implementing and coordinating CAE’s Pillar 2 requirements;
  • Collaborate with International Tax team to analyze and advise on tax (income, value added, withholding etc) aspects of CAE proposed transactions on the international market and recommend to management a tax effective structure for the transactions, providing estimates of tax costs (corporate, sales and other taxes);
  • Oversee the Tax team with preparation / review of the global tax provisions;
  • Provide tax training to employees of CAE and subsidiaries relating to international tax compliance and tax reporting;
  • Modify or propose changes to corporate policies and procedures in relation to international tax compliance and tax reporting;
  • Collaborate with local finance, and legal teams to maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax structure and the impact of ongoing global tax reforms;
  • Ensure timely compliance with Pillar 2 requirements and calculate the impact of such positions on a quarterly basis;
  • Responsible to manage Tax Reporting team on quarterly tax provisions for foreign affiliates tax provisions;
  • Elaborate Pillar 2 disclosures in line with IFRS and local GAAP standards required for CAE’s quarterly tax reporting;
  • Identify appropriate processes and controls to build the GloBE governance;
  • Monitor GloBE tax liabilities to support discussions regarding financial statements, tax optimization and tax compliance process;
  • Manage and Responsible for special projects like LER - Legal entity rationalization  (innovation, improvement, automation, etc);
  • Actively participate in the review of the global tax provision reporting processes to optimize it and participate in the implementation of new processes to mitigate tax risks;
  • Provide technical support for Pillar Two GMT for tax accounting reporting process as well as delivering compliance and reporting solutions.

Job requirements:

  • University degree in accounting
  • Training in taxation
  • Knowledge of the accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of the concepts surrounding tax provisions (permanent differences, temporary differences)
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in corporate tax compliance, including 2 years in accounting
  • An accounting designation
  • Commitment to enhancing technical and other knowledge and skills.
  • Risk awareness.
  • Excellent team-working skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Result oriented
  • Efficient and autonomous
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • English and French
