THE OPPORTUNITY
Aritzia is growing and our Digital Technology team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for delivering everyday luxury experiences to Aritzia’s clients by leveraging technology to meet and exceed the vision and mission of the business. As the Staff Engineer, Digital Technology, you will support with feature delivery for Digital technology, including the recent site rebuild with a new architecture alongside the launch of the new Mobile App. Your role will focus on forward-end development, while also requiring a solid understanding of back-end. THE ROLE
As the Staff Engineer, Digital Technology, you will:
- Evaluate and input on technology product solutions to ensure they are built in the right way to meet business outcomes.
- Ensure the solution design intent is realized and works seamlessly with existing systems and infrastructure.
- Implement structured testing that ensures functionality and identify and address deficiencies.
- Launch and maintain technology solutions.
- Provide reliable and performant solutions with excellent proactive and reactive support.
- Define and champion processes and standards that balance agility with discipline, guiding multiple teams to deliver consistent, high-quality solutions.
- Mentor and guide developers across squads, fostering an architectural mindset that balances speed of delivery with maintainability, resilience, and business outcomes.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The Staff Engineer, Digital Technology has:
- Proven and best-in-class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in:
- React (ES6), TypeScript, Git, CSS, JavaScript, and state management using MobX.
- Experience working with runtime environments.
- Salesforce, JavaScript backend development, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with service workers, proxies, package managers, and CICD tools.
- Cloud infrastructure (particularly within Retail) with an API-first development approach.
- Highly adaptable to new technologies and environments.
- Excellent communication skills, proactive in asking the right questions
- Self-driven.
- A commitment to learn and apply Aritzia's Values, Business and People Leadership principles.
- A commitment to quality and investing in results that add value to the business.
THE COMPENSATION
The typical hiring range for this position is 175,000–$225,000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
