Dotmatics is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic CloudOps Team. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Oracle database systems. This role involves implementing and maintaining database infrastructure, optimizing performance, managing security, and troubleshooting issues to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
In this role you will get to:
Database Installation and Configuration:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
Performance Tuning:
- Monitor and optimize database performance, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring optimal response times.
- Implement and maintain indexes, views, and other database objects to enhance performance.
Backup and Recovery:
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
- Conduct regular database backups and perform recovery procedures as needed.
Security Management:
- Manage database security, including user access control and data encryption.
- Implement and enforce security policies to protect sensitive data.
Patch Management:
- Stay up-to-date with Oracle patches and updates.
- Plan and execute patching and upgrades to ensure database systems are secure and compliant.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor database systems for issues and proactively address potential problems.
- Investigate and resolve database-related incidents and outages.
Capacity Planning:
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure the scalability of database systems.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to allocate resources appropriately.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide guidance and training to other team members as needed.
We are looking for a person who ideally has 5+ Years of Oracle Database Administration experience. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving and a high-degree of adaptability. The key skills we are looking for are:
- Oracle database architecture and internals
- SQL and PL/SQL scripting
- Performance tuning and optimization
- Backup and recovery procedures
- Powershell Scripting with regards to Automation Processes
- Implementation of database security best practices
- Windows System Administration
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services
You may also demonstrate:
- Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools
- Ability to create and update process documentation
- Experience with Atlassian Cloud Product Suite
