Position Summary

Sunrise Farms is seeking a Data Integration Developer (12-Month Hourly Contract)  to join the Reset & Restart (R&R) Program on a 12-month hourly contract. R&R is a large-scale digital transformation initiative that implements our new Syspro ERP among other enterprise solutions.  This role will support the Data Foundations Project Team by developing, testing, documenting, and supporting the interim data integration solution that loads data from the new Syspro Replica environment into the legacy SQL reporting environment.

The role will work under the direction of the Senior Data Integration Lead and the Data Foundations Project Manager and will help build the ELT/ETL pipelines, SQL logic, mapping tables, validation reports, and documentation required to maintain reporting continuity during the phased rollout of the new Syspro ERP.

Over time, this role will also work with our implementation partner on our future state Snowflake-based Medallion Architecture.

In addition to data engineering responsibilities, the role will support Power BI report development, and other business systems analysis activities related to R&R.  This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a major enterprise transformation while helping establish Sunrise Farms' future data ecosystem.

High-performing candidates will be considered for a permanent position on our future data management team, which will be established at the end of the project.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Pipeline Development

  • Develop data pipelines to extract data from the Syspro Replica SQL Server environment and load it into our legacy SQL Server Data Warehouse.

  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes for incremental and near real-time data synchronization, reflecting the responsibilities listed in the deck.

  • Develop SQL transformation logic, cross-reference tables, and mapping frameworks.

  • Support updates to legacy stored procedures, views, and reporting structures to support new Syspro data.

  • Assist with pipeline testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and refresh validation.

2. Data Mapping, Validation & Reconciliation

  • Support Product, Customer, Supplier, and Company mapping logic between legacy and new Syspro environments.

  • Build and maintain data validation and reconciliation processes.

  • Investigate data discrepancies and support issue resolution.

  • Maintain data integrity and auditing capabilities across environments

  • Support historical data consolidation requirements.

3. Reporting & Analytics Support

  • Help ensure compatibility with existing operational, financial, SSRS, Vivid, and Power BI reporting environments.

  • Update or build Power BI reports and dashboards as required.

  • Support reporting validation during ERP rollout activities.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand reporting issues, data gaps, and enhancement requests.

  • Assist with future-state report/KPI analysis and documentation.

4. Infrastructure & Operational Support

  • Work with Infrastructure and senior technical resources to support secure connectivity between Azure-hosted Replica environments and on-premises legacy environments.

  • Help design and maintain monitoring and error-handling mechanisms.

  • Support optimization of pipeline performance and refresh frequencies to meet business reporting requirements.

  • Assist with issue tracking, defect resolution, and operational support during plant go-lives.

5. Documentation & Business Systems Analysis

  • Document data flows, business rules, transformation logic, and mapping structures.

  • Create or maintain technical documentation, support guides, runbooks, and operational procedures.

  • Capture business logic currently implemented in the legacy SQL reporting environment to support future Snowflake Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer design.

  • Assist with requirements gathering, process documentation, testing support, and stakeholder follow-up.

  • Support UAT, data validation, and reporting cutover activities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of SQL Server development, data integration, BI development, or business systems analysis experience.

  • Strong SQL Server and T-SQL skills.

  • Experience developing or supporting ETL/ELT processes.

  • Experience with stored procedures, views, indexing, and query performance tuning.

  • Experience with data integration and enterprise reporting platforms, which is listed as a required qualification in the deck.

  • Understanding of data modeling and master data management principles.

  • Experience troubleshooting data quality and reconciliation issues.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional business and technical stakeholders.

  • Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Syspro ERP experience.

  • Experience with ERP migration projects.

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or food processing operations.

  • Exposure to Azure data services, Snowflake, Fivetran, and Power BI.

  • Understanding of Medallion Architecture, including Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

  • Experience supporting operational, financial, or manufacturing reporting.

  • Experience with data validation, reconciliation reporting, and business stakeholder support.

Key Deliverables

The Data Integration Developer will contribute to:

  • Production-ready Replica → legacy SQL environment data pipelines.

  • Master data cross-reference and mapping framework.

  • Monitoring, logging, and error-handling processes.

  • Technical and operational documentation.

  • Data reconciliation and validation reports.

  • Knowledge transfer and support documentation.
