POSITION OVERVIEW
The Data Analyst, LaaS (DA) position within the Logistics as a Service (LaaS) department is a cross functional position with stakeholders in LaaS, internal/external sales, clients, and executive leadership. The DA must leverage relevant, accurate data to support key business processes and decisions for both internal and external clients in an accessible way. As a member of the LaaS team, the DA will contribute to the development and maintenance of our business intelligence, reporting capabilities, as well as the overall data analysis needs of the department. The data analyst will work in a team environment to mine and gather data, produce reports, and present insights clearly.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Create, maintain and distribute reports or dashboards with a variety of business intelligence tools (such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, etc.) for both internal use and external commercial opportunities.
- Extract actionable insights and manipulate data with advanced statistical models or techniques with a variety of tools (such as Qlik Sense, Excel, SQL, Power Query, Microsoft Flow, Python, R, etc.)
- Identify and standardize best practices in LaaS; automate processes whenever viable; leverage project management methodologies to deploy these solutions over time.
- Communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders; create and deliver high quality data visualizations.
- Evaluate the capabilities of all tools against the business requirements; identify any gaps and contribute to the prioritization decisions to address them.
- Participate in, and sometimes lead, cross-functional project teams; use data to discover new opportunities within existing systems or processes.
- Utilize LLamasoft Data Guru and Supply Chain Guru to execute network models and transportation studies for both LaaS and SaaS customers.
- Other tasks and activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 2-4 years of business intelligence, data analysis, consulting, reporting or related experience, preferably within the transportation or supply chain industry.
- Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research or related technical field.
- Experience with supply chain software (e2open’s portfolio suite or JDA, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Proficient with SQL or at least one programming language (Python, R, etc.); Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, etc.
- Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Customer facing and/or supplier management experience is preferred.
- Great interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and contribute in a team, sometimes as a leader, sometimes as a participant.
- Proven problem-solving ability with specialized and technical knowledge of master data elements across supply chain, financial, and technical processes and systems.
- Knowledge of basic data modeling and fundamental core database concepts.
- Capable of creating and delivering presentations to C-Suite executives
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- General office environment and responsibilities requiring:
- Extensive use of the computer which involves viewing a monitor and keyboarding for most of the workday
- Placing and receiving phone calls
- Occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds
- May require 5% travel or more if needed
