Position:                D365 F&O Functional Analyst

Shift:                      40 hours | Full-time
Department:        IT
Location:               Richmond, BC, Canada

Reports to:           Manager, IT Analytics & Reporting

Reporting to the  Manager, IT Analytics & Reporting, the D365 F&O Functional Analyst plays a key role focused on the day-to-day operation, configuration and ongoing support of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (ERP) platform. This is 4 days on-site role and has no direct reports.

YOUR ROLE

  • Platform operations & administration
    • Day-to-day administration of D365 F&O including security, role management, licensing and environment health
    • Help coordinate the two Microsoft release-wave upgrades each year — scheduling, regression testing with the business, and validation before cutover
    • Monitor environment health
    • Maintain documentation of configurations, integrations and standard operating procedures
  • Functional configuration & support
    • Configure and support core modules — finance, procurement, inventory and warehouse, production control and project management
    • Run and triage the support ticket queue
    • Master data governance — helping the business maintain and monitor master data according to established standards
  • Project execution
    • Deliver enhancement work from requirements through go-live
    • Gather and document requirements, then confirm them back with the business
    • Work alongside our F&O developer
  • Reporting & business intelligence
    • Maintain and extend our existing Power BI reports built on D365 F&O data
    • Build straightforward new reports and dashboards in response to business requests
    • Investigate and resolve reporting discrepancies, working back to the underlying ERP data
  • Users & communication
    • Run user training and onboarding as new capabilities go live
    • Provide clear, timely status updates to the program lead and stakeholders
    • Translate business needs into platform terms, and platform behavior into business language

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years hands-on with D365 F&O in a functional analyst, administrator or support role
  • Platform administration experience — security and role management, licensing, environment health, patching and release waves
  • Functional configuration and support experience across core modules
  • Master data requirements — parts, BOMs, customer, vendor and accounting masters
  • A track record of delivering work to deadlines, time estimates, user buy-in and adoption.
  • Ticket-queue discipline — efficiently run and triage a support load
  • Data Management – understanding of ERP data structure and data entities
  • Basic to intermediate Power BI — creates, maintains and extends reports
  • Clear user-facing communication — requirements gathering, training and status updates

Preferably with:

  • Manufacturing or engineer-to-order industry background
  • Light X++ or similar exposure — enough to converse with a developer, not to develop
  • Data integration and interface familiarity, particularly ERP-to-BI
  • Exposure to CM2, ISO 9001 or other structured quality assurance protocol
  • Familiar with Excel Add-ins and VBA
  • Familiar with Power Automate

What success looks like – YEAR ONE

  • Platform administration is routine, documented and predictable
  • The support queue is triaged and current, with response and resolution times trending down
  • Assigned enhancement work lands on schedule and is adopted by users
  • Master data is maintained to standard and trusted by the business
  • Users come to you first with D365 questions, and get consistent answers

Competencies, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to research technical solutions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage priorities, make informed decisions, and work with minimal supervision.
