The incumbent should have a qualified CPA designation and will work closely with the CFO.

This isn't a role for someone who simply maintains the status quo. We're looking for a finance leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, building scalable processes, improving controls, leveraging automation, and partnering with the business to support growth. You'll have ownership over the day-to-day accounting operations while helping shape the future of our Finance function.

If you're highly organized, detail-oriented, naturally curious, and energized by solving operational challenges, we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, cash flow, and working capital.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls while ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Drive process improvements by leveraging automation and technology to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop meaningful financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support business performance.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Support the Finance function as the company scales through cross-functional projects, system implementations, and process optimization.

What We're Looking For

  • CPA designation (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity or cross-border accounting (Canada, US, or Mexico).
  • Experience managing audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with modern ERP/accounting systems.
  • Comfortable working with evolving processes and shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across departments.

Nice To Have

  • Experience implementing financial systems or automation tools.
  • Exposure to AI-powered accounting or workflow automation.

What Success Looks Like

In your first year, you'll help us build a stronger, more scalable Finance function by:

  • Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Strengthening financial controls and compliance.
  • Improving month-end close efficiency.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Creating meaningful financial visibility for business leaders.
  • Building scalable processes that support continued company growth.

Why Positrace?

You'll join a collaborative technology company where Finance is viewed as a strategic business partner—not just a reporting function. We value people who embrace change, and enjoy building better ways of working.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a measurable impact, influence business decisions, and help shape a growing organization, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $95,000–$110,000 CAD, based on experience.
  • Extended health and dental benefits.
  • PTO
  • Professional development support.
  • Collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Opportunity to help build and modernize the Finance function within a growing technology company.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement while remaining deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the business.
