Own Merchkit’s content engine across blog posts, LinkedIn, newsletters, B2B case studies, short-form video, webinars, and industry events. Translate customer conversations and product insights into compelling thought leadership, manage publishing cadence, coordinate webinar speakers and promotion, and handle trade show logistics. The role requires strong writing, AI-assisted workflows, B2B SaaS or ecommerce understanding, self-direction, light video production, and 6–8 annual in-person events.

The Opportunity

Merchkit is the AI-powered product catalog platform built for agentic commerce - and we're growing. We have paying customers, a sharp category narrative, and a stream of real customer wins that the market needs to hear about. What we don't have yet is someone dedicated to turning all that signal into content.

That's where you come in.

This is a generalist content marketing hire. You'll be a dedicated marketer on a small team, reporting directly to the CEO. You'll own the content engine from end to end: blog posts, LinkedIn, newsletters, case studies, webinars, and event presence.

If you're early in your career and want to own something real rather than execute someone else's plan, this is the opportunity. You'll have direct access to customer conversations, product wins, and a category narrative that's genuinely ahead of where the market is going.

What You'll DoContent & Copywriting

• Take prospect conversations and customer problems and turn them into blog posts, LinkedIn content, and thought leadership that builds Merchkit's category narrative

• Write and publish a monthly newsletter covering product updates, industry stats on agentic commerce, and customer wins

• Develop B2B case studies from customer success stories and distribute them through Merchkit's own channels and partner networks (including the B2B Ecommerce Association)

Video & Social

• Script and plan short-form video content for YouTube optimized for GEO and SEO - working with a contractor for production while handling light capture on iPhone when needed

• Manage Merchkit's LinkedIn presence with a consistent publishing cadence

Webinars & Events

• Plan and coordinate monthly webinars - topic selection, speaker coordination, promotion, and follow-up content

• Manage logistics for 6–8 in-person events per year where Merchkit exhibits or speaks: booth shipping, setup coordination, collateral, and on-the-ground execution

What We're Looking For

Writing is your superpower - you write clearly, quickly, and in a voice that doesn't sound like every other SaaS company. You know how to make technical content interesting.

AI-native workflow - you actively use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to produce more, faster, without sacrificing quality. This is a baseline expectation, not a bonus.

Ecommerce or B2B SaaS context - you understand the world your audience lives in: merchandising teams, catalog ops, channel management. You don't need to have worked at a PIM company, but you should be curious about product data and how it affects ecommerce outcomes.

Self-directed - you can look at a customer conversation and identify the content angle without being told. You manage your own calendar, deadlines, and priorities.

Comfortable with light production - you're not expected to be a video editor, but you can capture clean iPhone footage and brief a contractor effectively.

Event-ready - coordinating booth logistics, managing shipments, and being on-site at trade shows doesn't faze you.

• 1–3 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, or a related role - or a strong portfolio that makes the case

Why You'll Love It Here

Ownership from day one - you won't be assisting someone else's content strategy. You'll be building it.

Direct access - you'll work closely with the CEO and have full visibility into customer conversations, sales calls, and product direction. The best content comes from that kind of access.

A real narrative to work with - agentic commerce is a genuine category shift happening right now. The content practically writes itself when you're on the right side of a market transition.

Equity - stock options and a real stake in what we're building

Hybrid flexibility - Vancouver-based with a hybrid setup

Room to grow - as Merchkit scales, this role scales with it

What's Next?

If you're excited about:

• Owning the content function at an AI-native startup with real customers and real momentum

• Writing about a category that matters - not another SaaS tool, but the infrastructure for how ecommerce works in an AI-first world

• Building something from scratch with direct access to the people and conversations that make great content

…we'd love to see your work. Send your portfolio or a few writing samples along with your application.

Our Interview Process

• Initial conversation with the CEO

• A short content exercise - we'll share a real customer problem and ask you to pitch a content angle

• Final conversation and offer

At Merchkit, we believe diverse teams build better products. We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of background.
