As a Colour Quality Specialist, you oversee colour quality in bulk production, manage quality issues in supply chain, review colour samples, and maintain accurate records.

Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Colour Quality Specialist, you own the colour quality of our material at bulk production. You are a natural leader who is committed to fostering excellence in colour quality of all the brand products. You oversee the color performance of all the raw material suppliers and garment factories and manage the colour related quality issues within the supply chain.

If you were the Colour Quality Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Reviewing and approving all the color quality samples including but not limited to the First Bulk Yardage (FBY) samples.
- Reviewing the incoming colourfastness (CF) test reports according to the brand standards and requirements and taking actions as needed
- Approving the 1st of production submits in digital color management platform (Natific) and monitoring the ongoing bulk production data.
- Maintaining current and accurate records of all relevant communications, audits, corrective action plans, manuals, protocols, standards, and test methods related to colour.
- Performing visual (under the light box) and instrumental (with spectrophotometer) colour assessments
- Providing guidance to the mills and labs regarding CF testing and shade assessment requirements
- Entering accurate and relevant colour quality data into the systems
- Supporting the Manager of Raw Material Quality with colour quality issues at bulk production and managing the colour issue management tracker
- Continuously driving colour quality excellence through the Arc’teryx supply chain
- Preparing regular reports and follow-ups with internal and external stakeholders as required
- Managing the physical sample library of the colour standards, colour quality issues, and quality control (QC) cards
- Ensuring the brand’s QC card protocols and colour quality assessment standards at bulk production are followed in accordance with the vendor and standard manuals
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Reviewing/approving the QC cards submitted by the suppliers from seasonal first bulk yardages
- Regular calls and interactions with suppliers to ensure the follow and implement the quality protocols.
- Managing the color related quality issues happening in the manufacturing.
- Monitoring the flow of data in Natific, reviewing the color quality KPIs and developing reports and analysis as needed.
Are you our next Colour Quality Specialist?
- You have a post-secondary education in the textiles or garments industry
- You have +3 year of experience as a colourist, textile QC, or a colour designer
- You are a textile specialist, with deep knowledge of colour theory, textile production, dyeing, printing and colourfastness test methods and standards
- You show superior ability in hue discrimination, with a good score in Munsell Hue Test (Score of 0-16) and a passing grade in the Ishihara Test
- You can work for extensive hours in the dark room
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
- You have highly effective verbal and written communication skills
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity and change
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
- You have a good understanding of color theory and spectral data
