Overview of the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead sales growth and expand market share for our dairy and cheese products with Sysco Canada. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, strategic planning, and client relationship management within the food service industry. They will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building partnerships, and driving revenue growth.
This position is for temporary maternity leave coverage and will be approximately 15 months in duration.
Compensation: $88,325 - $115,930 annually
*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills and training.*

How you will make contributions that matter:
- Identify and target new markets and customer segments for Saputo dairy and cheese products.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to guide decision-making.
- Meet and exceed sales targets through effective planning and execution.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to drive consistent growth.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals with distributors and/or foodservice clients.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the production and marketing teams to align product offerings with market demand.
- Drive promotional activities and campaigns to increase product visibility and sales.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and delivery.
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve performance and market positioning.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- A degree/diploma in business, sales, marketing or equivalent education and training desired
- Minimum 5 years Account Management experience in Canadian Food Service industry
- Dependable and team oriented with a proven ability to build internal and external relationships
- Strong understanding of the dairy industry, including production, distribution, and retail dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events as needed.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
