Architects and provisions secure, highly available Azure environments for a digital banking platform. Responsibilities include configuring VNets, subnets, firewalls, routing, VPNs, DNS, certificates, IAM, disaster recovery, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. The role leads GitOps and infrastructure-as-code practices, manages vendor-controlled pipelines, and oversees their modernization and transition to the client engineering team.
We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps & Infrastructure Lead to architect and provision the foundational cloud environments required to run a new digital banking platform securely. This role is ideal for a hands-on senior engineer who thrives on setting up secure cloud networks, infrastructure-as-code, and continuous deployment pipelines.
What You'll Do- Establish highly available production and non-production environments with disaster recovery capabilities across Microsoft Azure regions.
- Configure and manage virtual networks (VNets), subnets, firewalls, and routing.
- Coordinate Site-to-Site (S2S) VPN connections with platform vendors and third-party service providers, including validation of CIDR/IP ranges, routing, firewall rules, and connectivity requirements.
- Manage DNS configuration, SSL/TLS certificate exchange through Azure Key Vault, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) approvals.
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, GitOps / Infrastructure-as-Code practices, and secure deployment/release coordination.
- Take ownership of existing vendor-controlled CI/CD and infrastructure pipelines, assess the current implementation, and lead their transition, modernization, and ongoing management by the client engineering team.
- 5+ years of recent experience in DevOps and cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Senior-level expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and Azure DevOps.
- Deep understanding of enterprise networking (VNets, S2S VPNs, Firewalls, DNS).
- Proven experience in GitOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with containerized and microservices-based architectures.
- Experience securing cloud architecture within a highly regulated (financial) sector.
- Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Experience in large-scale modernization or enterprise transformation projects.
