Fresh Start Foods Canada Ltd. was founded in 1993 to provide Foodservice Customers with a fresh alternative. As our innovative business grows rapidly, we are seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant/Product Development Coordinator for our Richmond location. This person will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and completing new products in a timely manner.
Position: Full-Time, Permanent.
Salary: Between $45,000 to $60,000 per year, based on experience.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. In office.
Essential Functions:
Initiating new product form requests and gathering necessary documentation from the sales team, including item descriptions, ingredients, ratios, dimensions, cuts, volume estimates, and pack sizes.
Supporting the sales team with item information by reviewing active and inactive items for comparable pack sizes, dimensions, and cuts.
Researching new raw material and packaging requirements during new product development.
Requesting samples as needed and coordinating with the purchasing department to obtain ingredients and packaging.
Ensuring the timely completion of new project development requests.
Completing new product documentation to generate samples for approval.
Arranging sample requests for new products and coordinating their delivery to customers.
Coordinating shelf-life studies on new products.
Requesting specification sheets for new products.
Providing status updates to stakeholders to ensure new products meet launch dates.
Once approved, setting up new items in Canopy and Print Station.
Coordinating new item listings with GFS, SAP#, GTIN, PIC Cards, and Nutritionals.
Communicating new item setups internally and externally, and arranging dry runs for inspection and error review.
Analyzing sales performance for new products.
Providing backup support for Customer Care.
Offering general leadership to troubleshoot customer shortages and suggest possible substitutions.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
At least 1 year experience in an administrative or similar role.
High school or equivalent.
Experience in the food industry/food service would be an asset.
Strong computer skills (ie. Google Suite, Google Sheets, Gmail).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
