Job Description

Shift: 1st shift

Days of Work: Monday – Friday

Work Hours: 8:00am to 5:00 pm

Work Location: On-site

Salary Range: $18.41 to $25.77

Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly

The primary responsibility of the Accounting Assistant In this position your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare depreciation schedules.
  • Research and resolve outstanding PO/Invoice related issues.
  • Prepare reports/spreadsheets necessary for others to use.
  • Perform basic job functions to support AR clerk, AP clerk and Payroll Clerk.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform balance-sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assists in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
  • Assist in cash flow projections and collections.
  • Performs all applicable duties in accordance with ISO procedures, if required.
  • Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties and assist controller and assistant controller with special projects, as required.

Job Requirement

  • Must pass all required pre-employment screenings – Background, MVR, Physical & Drug screen.
  • Be able to comply with all drug and alcohol policies of Houma Armature Works and/or customer sponsored programs. Subject to random Drug and Alcohol screenings.
  • Be available for and successfully complete all required training.
  • Possess valid identification.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • Candidate shall have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interface with co-workers and/or customers.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and meet deadlines.
  • Team player attitude with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

    Qualifications
    • Associates degree in Accounting, finance or business. 2-3 years relative experience may substitute for degree requirement.
