Designs and reviews protection and control systems for substations, hydroelectric stations, and renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include preparing electrical drawings, diagrams, calculations, equipment sizing, station service systems, panel documentation, and QA/QC packages. The engineer coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, participates in site surveys and review meetings, supports commissioning and field engineering, and may perform occasional site work. Requires Canadian utility project experience, professional engineering registration eligibility, and strong protection and control expertise.

Prepares detailed protection and control, SCADA, civil/structural, telecommunications, panel, wiring, grounding, and network drawings using CAD software. Creates bills of materials, cable schedules, nameplates, and structural data sheets; reviews surveys, identifies drawing clashes, coordinates with project teams, and supports multiple projects. Provides mentorship, adapts to new software and client standards, and participates in occasional field visits.

Lead and manage automation, controls, and IT/OT projects (budget, schedule, scope). Develop proposals, mentor automation teams, provide technical direction, coordinate multi-discipline work, support business development, and deliver PLC/DCS and HMI/SCADA solutions for municipal, utility, industrial, and renewable clients.
