BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU)

British Columbia Nurses’ Union (BCNU) is a member-driven labour union representing more than 55,000 nurses and other healthcare workers in British Columbia. Founded in 1981, it protects and advances members’ health, safety, social and economic well-being through union representation, collective bargaining, education, advocacy and professional support. BCNU also champions nursing, safer staffing through nurse-to-patient ratios, and accessible, publicly funded healthcare for communities.
