The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and leading projects for various facilities, ensuring compliance and technical excellence throughout all project phases.

Design and deliver HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional and light industrial projects. Lead mechanical discipline through design, construction, and commissioning; perform site reviews, coordinate vendors, respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and ensure code compliance and quality.

Lead mechanical design and construction administration for commercial and institutional buildings: design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and controls; perform HVAC calculations (Carrier HAP), duct/pipe/pump sizing, equipment selection, Revit drafting as needed, coordinate disciplines, mentor staff, attend client/vendor meetings, and support construction inspections and RFIs.

Support dam safety inspections, reviews, and condition assessments; assist geotechnical investigations and field monitoring; perform supervised engineering analyses (seepage, slope stability, settlements); prepare technical reports, proposals, and safety plans; coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support project management. Frequent field travel to remote/mining sites across BC and Canada.

Lead electrical engineering for mining projects across all phases—design HV/LV distribution, substations, substations, switchgear, MCCs, controls and automation (PLCs/DCS/SCADA), power system modeling, technical documentation, client engagement, mentoring, construction support, compliance with CEC and industry standards, and operational troubleshooting to improve reliability and safety.

Lead operational, project delivery, and technical leadership for AECOM Canada Buildings & Places: set strategy and KPIs, oversee project delivery and finances, coach operations managers, optimize organization structure, drive change initiatives, support wins and client service, and represent the business line at industry events.

Lead project planning and scheduling activities: review contractor/consultant schedules, perform critical path and QSRA-related analyses, maintain master program schedules, integrate WBS and cost inputs, report variances, support change management and earned value practices, and mentor scheduling staff.

Support project cost and schedule control by using company financial systems, preparing forecasts and trend analyses, tracking labor and expenditures, assisting baseline budgets and change management, supporting earned value and invoice reviews, and participating in project cost review meetings.

Lead implementation and maintenance of BIM environments, enforce standards and digital workflows, mentor BIM staff, troubleshoot complex model and workflow issues, and drive process improvements across multidisciplinary projects.

Design, specify and implement SCADA, DCS and PLC control and instrumentation systems for water/wastewater projects. Develop configurations, graphics and databases, support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensure deliverables meet regulations and standards.

Design and deliver electrical, instrumentation and control systems for municipal water infrastructure projects. Prepare power distribution, grounding, lighting, cable, drives, standby power and low-voltage system designs; specify process instrumentation and control systems; lead electrical discipline tasks; ensure QA/QC and code compliance; coordinate with project teams and mentor junior staff.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for commercial oversight in project delivery, managing contracts, finances, risk, and collaboration across departments to ensure successful outcomes.

Lead electrical instrumentation and controls design for municipal water/wastewater projects: perform load calculations and electrical analyses, develop power distribution and low-voltage systems, prepare design documentation and reports, provide discipline leadership, cost estimating, contract administration, and construction field reviews to ensure code and client compliance.
