Readymode, a Vancouver-based software provider that boosts call center dialing speeds with its cloud-based predictive dialer, has announced plans to double its tech team from 15 to 30 employees in the coming months.

Despite a wave of recent tech layoffs across Canada, Readymade has grown by 35 percent over the past year, expanding its workforce to 70 employees. The company’s CRO, Rob Auld, shared with Daily Hive that while large tech companies are downsizing, smaller companies are thriving by focusing on specialized, niche markets.

“By bootstrapping, we are both ruthlessly efficient and self-sufficient,” Auld said. “That means we don’t experience the ebbs and flows of the market. We have no venture capital backing, so all the capital could dry up tomorrow and it won’t impact us.”

Readymode plans to expand its tech team first, with marketing and sales positions expected to be posted afterward. While the majority of its staff is based in Vancouver and across British Columbia, the company is now open to hiring across the country, as all roles are remote.
