The Nitty-Gritty
We’re seeking a talented Visual Designer to craft compelling visuals for our flagship games and marketing channels. Reporting to the Art Director, you’ll work remotely alongside Production, LiveOps, Product, UX/UI, and Marketing teams. You’ll quickly learn our style and pipeline, then hit the ground running to deliver polished, production-ready assets. Our goal is that our contractors can jump in, learn the art styles and process and begin contributing to the team in a short period of time.

Requirements

The Duties:

  • UI & Marketing Assets: Design and animate promo materials, in-game UI (menus, HUDs, icons, typography), social graphics, banners, key art, and store assets with minimal revisions
  • End-to-End Execution: Conceptualize—from wireframes/mockups through final deliverables—high-quality graphic designs in diverse styles, iterating based on sprint feedback and technical constraints
  • Design Systems: Develop and maintain cohesive visual guidelines (color palettes, typography, iconography) to ensure consistency across products and channels
  • Production Velocity: Estimate and complete tasks within the appropriate velocity for your level, proactively flagging scope or timeline risks
  • Feedback & Collaboration: Participate actively in retros, brainstorming, and sprint planning. Apply team and player/community feedback to enhance user experience.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with content designers, game designers, producers, and engineers to ship visuals on time and on budget
  • Tool Adoption: Master existing toolset (Animate CC, Illustrator, Photoshop) and learn new software quickly with guidance

Must-Haves:

  • Must have access to a Windows PC (our art environment is not compatible with macOS; while you may use your Mac for some tasks, a Windows setup is required for production work)
  • 3+ years as a Visual Designer (games, interactive media, or digital products)
  • Portfolio showcasing design, branding, and marketing graphics.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Animate, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign)
  • Production-Ready Skills: Able to produce polished promos and visual assets with little revision
  • Conceptual Strength: Independently conceive and execute high-quality graphics in multiple styles
  • Design Fundamentals: Strong command of typography, colour theory, composition, perspective, and branding
  • Motion Principles: Understanding of animation fundamentals for UI and simple character/graphic motion
  • Agile Experience: Comfortable working in sprints; strong verbal and written communication for daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and reviews
  • Self-Starter: Task-driven, organized, proactive; able to manage your own workload and deadlines

Nice-to-Haves

    • HTML/CSS proficiency for interactive prototypes
    • 3D Tools: Basic Blender, Maya, or rigging knowledge to prep/tweak models
    • AI-Augmented Design: Experience with MidJourney, DALL·E, or similar for ideation support
    • F2P Game Background and understanding of live-ops design needs
    • Jira & Confluence fluency for agile collaboration
