Job Description
This position is responsible for leading the Accounting, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Insurance, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions of the Nidec Americas Shared Service Center and serving as a trusted advisor to the global Nidec business.
Responsibilities include:
- Be a key leader in supporting the long-term strategic plan for the shared service organization.
- Lead change for standardization and automation of accounting and finance department processes to gain efficiencies.
- Evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement (process, technology, staffing), and implement approved changes.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure effective and efficient shared service delivery.
- Oversee general accounting, consolidations, financial reporting, fixed assets, treasury, risk management, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions ensuring timely and accurate reporting and strong collaboration between teams.
- Prepare annual budgets and supporting documentation, monitor adherence to budgets, and develop metrics to allocate shared service charges to supported business units.
- Develop and maintain policies and systems to ensure records are maintained in accordance with IFRS.
- Ensure all new accounting regulations are implemented throughout the group of companies.
- Mitigate financial risks to the organization by monitoring adherence to the company’s internal controls.
- Lead complex accounting transactions including accounting due diligence for acquisitions, purchase accounting, and implementation of new accounting regulations.
- Collaborate cross functionally with key business stakeholders to drive improvements in shared services.
- Attract, develop, engage and retain key talent.

- Maintain the highest level of integrity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. MBA or master’s degree in related field preferred.
- CPA license and Big 4 public experience preferred.
- 15+ years of increasing responsibility in finance roles.
- Ideal candidate will have prior experience overseeing accounting and finance-related functions.
- Tax background a large plus.
- Technical accounting expertise required.
- Proven track record of leadership in finance and change management.
- High standards of data accuracy, commitment, and integrity.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills. Customer service-oriented focus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to solve problems using a team approach. Must be able to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external consultants and auditors.
- Strategic planning, project management and tactical implementation skills.
- Ability to make decisions and meet demanding deadlines.
