Position Overview:
As an Underwriting Analyst within our Property Department, you will play an essential role in supporting the underwriting process from start to finish. You’ll collaborate closely with underwriters to evaluate and rate property risks, contribute to catastrophe (CAT) modeling that informs strategic decisions, and ensure that new and renewal account information is accurately entered into our underwriting systems. You’ll also assist with preparing renewal documentation, including quotes, binders, account summaries, and endorsements, helping us maintain an efficient and responsive workflow.
You will participate in the self-audit process to uphold the highest standards of underwriting discipline, ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory standards, and help drive process improvements. Additionally, you will be a valuable resource for our broker partners by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely, professional support to strengthen these important relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with evaluating and rating property risks and support the CAT modeling process to assess exposures and potential losses
- Accurately enter new and renewal account information into various underwriting systems, ensuring data integrity and timeliness
- Prepare and organize renewal documentation, including quotes, binders, account summaries, and endorsements to support underwriters and streamline processes
- Participate in the self-audit process, ensuring underwriting standards are met and compliance with company and regulatory expectations is maintained
- Respond promptly and professionally to brokers’ questions, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing support to reinforce positive working relationships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance, risk management, business, or a related field (preferred)
- 1–2 years of experience in underwriting, insurance, or risk analysis (property line experience is a plus)
- Proficiency with underwriting systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a track record of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
