About Faber

Faber is a construction tech company that uses an app-based platform to directly connect construction companies to local workers looking for temporary or full-time work. We are passionate about providing a more transparent, reliable, and accountable way for both employers and employees to connect with each other, and are driven by the goal of creating a more connected workforce.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you’ll own the end-to-end UI/UX design for new features built on top of our existing platform for mobile (iOS/Android) and web. You’ll collaborate with product and engineering, run lean user-testing with trades workers, and deliver polished Figma prototypes. This position is primarily remote, however we’ll need you on-site in Vancouver 4-5 days per month for design workshops and stakeholder reviews. This is a 16 week fixed-term contract position, with the opportunity to provide ongoing support once the initial contract ends.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, and clickable prototypes in Figma
• Run quick discovery sessions and usability tests with construction employers and trades workers; iterate on feedback
• Design intuitive, mobile-first workflows for construction worker onboarding, skills development, training modules, and workforce management dashboards
• Ensure modern UI/UX flows and accessibility are implemented into every screen
• Leverage AI-assist tools to speed up repetitive UI tasks
• Deliver a concise style guide / design system for long-term maintainability

Skills and Requirements

• Experience in UI/UX design with a growing tech company
• 5+ years designing SaaS or workforce products (mobile + web)
• Expertise with Figma (auto-layout, components, prototyping) and knowledge of Ionic/Angular constraints
• Proven ability to plan and conduct lean user-research and usability-testing cycles
• Strong grasp of responsive design, accessibility, and inclusive UX best practices
• Located in Metro Vancouver with ability to collaborate in-person 4-5 days per month
• Portfolio of previous work examples

Final Thoughts

We believe in diversity of thought and experience. In keeping with this belief, we do not discriminate on any basis. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply. Should you require any accommodation or have questions, please let us know.

While we welcome all applications, we will only respond directly to those who are short-listed for a role. Thanks in advance for your understanding and wishing you all the best in your career journey.
