Job Description

 

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Transportation Digital Design Delivery Lead to support the planning, design, and delivery of complex transportation and transit infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will champion the use of digital tools, data management, and model-based design processes (e.g., BIM, GIS, CDEs) to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and quality across multi-disciplinary project teams.

This role is based in any major Canadian office.

As a member of the Canada Region digital team, you will work with professionals in the Transportation Business line across Canada and with other business lines in the geography and around the world to advance AECOM’s global digital capabilities and projects.

 

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, is customer focused, a critical thinker and problem solver and ready to apply their knowledge and skill sets to establish a rewarding, long-term career utilizing principles and methods for AEC Design and Digital Consulting projects

 

This is a newly created role.

 

As the Digital Design Delivery Lead for the GTA Transportation Business Line you will be a champion for:

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of digital design strategies for transportation infrastructure projects.

  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure that BIM, CAD, and other digital tools are embedded in project workflows.

  • Manage and maintain Common Data Environments (CDEs), ensuring consistent standards, version control, and structured data delivery.

  • Establish and enforce digital standards, templates, and model validation checks aligned with client and industry requirements.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure digital deliverables meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives.

  • Train, mentor, and upskill design teams in the use of digital delivery platforms and best practices.

  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and recommending process improvements.

  • Ensuring staff have access to the tools and equipment they need 

  • Driving the implementation of digital information plans and strategies

  • Working knowledge of ISO 19650 standards suite and related BIM standards

 

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline(engineering, IT, etc.)  + 10 years of relevant experience including BIM leadership in the transportation AEC space or engineering technologist diploma + 12 years relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience

  • Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions and follow through to ensure completion.

  • Executing multi discipline design projects within BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud or ProjectWise.

  • Extensive transportation experience with Revit, Civil3d, MicroStation and OpenRoads

  • Computational design & Automation

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Automated design using Dynamo, Orkestra and Grasshopper

  • Experience with parametric design, automation (Dynamo, Python), or AI/ML in design workflows.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work as a positive, energized and adaptable global team member

  • Flexible with work times to align with colleagues in different time zones

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and influence senior leaders.

  • Extremely strong relationship building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to champion and drive ideas/programs/solutions

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to work under pressure and prioritize effectively

  • Able to demonstrate passion, energy and drive, especially in the face of resistance.
