Reporting into the Manager of Disability Transformation, as a Group Disability Business Analyst, you will work closely with your operational business partners to deliver initiatives with solid focus on customer readiness. Your contributions will ensure our operations teams are able to accept project results without negatively impacting their delivery to our customers. You possess an excellent balance of analytical, communication, and process design skills. You have a natural curiosity that leads to a comfort in asking questions and challenging others to ensure we understand the details, and how they will alter our Group Disability Operations. You know how to build successful relationships with your coworkers and mesh naturally in an environment with geographically and culturally diverse multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve process quality.

  • Lead and handle Lean Six Sigma projects, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of objectives.

  • Investigate, research, and analyze to understand our business drivers and needs to bring order and precision via detailed business requirements.

  • Discover impacts to our business processes and build new or revised processes to enable our operations to deliver seamlessly after initiative delivery.

  • Support sophisticated client investigations that require collaboration across multiple Group Benefits collaborators to support the operational response and action plan to our customers.

  • Prepare our business partners for changes that are introduced and articulate what it will mean for them specifically.

  • Cultivate positive, effective relationships to strengthen partnership with key partners.

  • Collaborate intensely with subject matter authorities and clearly document business needs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Use Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop positive relationships and efficiently lead various sized groups to attain collaborative and innovative solutions.

  • Keep a well-documented and prioritized backlog of initiatives.

  • Map out and document new and enhanced business processes with accuracy and precision.

  • Set realistic, yet daring timelines to meet initiative deliveries.

  • Leverage data to drive prioritization and focus.

  • Adapt and reprioritize conflicting workloads and results.

  • Supervise and track initiative impact through data and effective feedback loops.

  • Be tenacious in your problem-solving and relentless in getting answers.

  • Support the development of strong problem statements to drive front-line employee idea generation.

What we are looking for:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is highly desirable.

  • Validated experience in applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Group Disability operations and systems (STD, AMCS, LTD) is an asset.

  • Passion for process mapping and/or process design and proven record to challenge the status quo.

  • Curiosity that leads to working towards the best solution for Manulife and our clients.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

  • Understanding of agile methodology.

  • Significant interest in change.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with ability to adjust for different audiences.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required (PowerPoint, Excel)

Salary range is expected to be between

$61,350.00 CAD - $102,250.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
