Job Description
Vanderlande’s Engineering Department designs, commissions and tests Material Handling Systems for our customers which includes some of North America’s biggest airports. Our Test/Integration Engineers are responsible for helping execute the design, commissioning and testing of the entire Material Handling High Level Controls System on large projects throughout North America. The individual will be part of a multi-disciplined team and will be responsible for effectively working with a variety of stakeholders, as well as external contractors.
Responsibilities:

Executing projects from conception through client handover and ensuring the technical performance of the system.

Supporting mechanical, hardware, system and network design, software development (PLC and/or PC related systems), integration of components, acceptance testing and commissioning.

Working closely with clients, subcontractors, project leaders and internal specialists to manage requirements, integration, configuration and software changes.

Identifying and minimizing technical risks.

Executing and testing integration between components, and reporting progress and status of test execution.

Preparing factory and customer integration test plans.

Preparing test data specifications and test case specifications for internal and external interface testing.

Integrating and testing the Vanderlande provided systems on customer site with external systems.

Understanding, interpreting and following procedures and standards.

Working on quotation bids with the systems and sales department on new projects or on project changes.

Identifying, initiating and implementing improvements in project execution and proposing technical solutions for complex and multidisciplinary problems.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Sytems and Controls Engineering is preferred.

3-5 years of experience with systems integration and configuration.
-
Willing to travel, sometimes for extended periods of time, and work flexible hours during on-site testing and integration (60% travel or more).
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:

In depth knowledge of architectures, integration strategies, test approaches, V model and software development and testing (emulation/simulation).

Knowledge of configuration management, requirements management, and test management tools.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Knowledge of controls engineering theories and principles.

Good interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
