About the Role:

We are seeking a Test Automation Engineering Manager to lead our automation efforts, drive quality projects, and build robust testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise and exceptional leadership skills to guide a team of test automation engineers. This role involves collaborating with different departments to ensure top-quality software delivery at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of test automation engineers
  • Cultivate a culture of quality, responsibility, and continuous improvement
  • Establish clear objectives, provide constructive performance feedback, and support the career advancement of team members
  • Partner with development, product, and operations teams to incorporate test automation into the software development lifecycle
  • Devise and execute test automation strategies to boost efficiency and minimize manual testing efforts
  • Create and maintain scalable, reusable, and efficient automation frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing
  • Identify and integrate suitable tools, technologies, and industry best practices for automation testing
  • Supervise and improve test coverage across various layers of the application
  • Promote the use of continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines to guarantee swift and dependable deployments
  • Set and monitor key test automation metrics (e.g., test coverage, flakiness, execution time)
  • Work with engineering leadership to prioritize and mitigate quality risks
  • Ensure thorough root cause analysis and defect tracking to reduce production issues
  • Advocate for test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD) practices
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance testing processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Stay informed about industry trends in test automation, quality engineering, and DevOps practices
  • Support and implement innovative testing methodologies to elevate software quality

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in software testing, including at least 3 years in a leadership position
  • Expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium)Strong programming skills in Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages
  • Experience in unit testing frameworks (e.g., RSpec, Jest, PyUnit, Junit, etc.)
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, K6)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Buildkite, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience leading and mentoring test automation engineers
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and align testing efforts with business goals
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in performance and security testing
  • Familiarity with AI-driven testing tools
  • Experience in the InsurTech or FinTech industry

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
