Job Description

The Territory Manager for our Master Lock brand will be responsible for generating end-user demand for all Master Lock products, cLOTO (cloud Lock Out Tag Out) software, and services within the British Columbia territory using a consultative sales approach as a Subject Matter Expert in Safety Lockout and portable security. You will partner with their distribution peers on all sales enablement opportunities within their defined territory to drive coordinated joint sales calls with end users. You will be accountable for achieving sales goals and increasing market share through all commercial channels of distribution within the designated territory.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in commercial and/or industrial sales, be extremely autonomous, and be able to travel overnight approximately 3 - 4 nights per month. You will have a background of generating end-user demand through building and maintaining strong customer relationships.

This remote position is based in the Vancouver, BC area covering the British Columbia territory.

What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for sale of all Master Lock products and services through all commercial classes of trade within the designated territory.
  • Conducts sales meetings and product knowledge training sessions as directed by management or requested by Distribution Sales counterparts.
  • Regularly monitors and reports on operating conditions and specific problems, opportunities and trends within their territory. Maintains in-depth awareness of local market, competitive trends and conditions, end-user attitudes and characteristics, business trends and general economic conditions and communicates these on an accurate and timely basis to management.
  • Documents all sales activities, opportunities, leads and contact interaction in CRM software.
  • Attends national and regional conventions, trade shows and dealer associations as identified or designated as meaningful for general business development.
  • Responsible for managing territory budget to include T. & E., Office Supplies, and General Administrative Expenses.
  • Prepare and submit budgets and forecasts as required by management.
  • Identifies and penetrates end user facilities within the designated territory to sell the complete product line to include safety products and services, security hardware, and locker locks.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of field sales experience (commercial or industrial background preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to convey value propositions clearly with groups of various sizes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with end-users and distribution partners
  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelor’s degree with studies in business or marketing or equivalent work experience
  • Experience and willingness to use CRM software (i.e. Oracle Sales Cloud)
  • Willing and available to travel overnight

Nice to Have:

  • Fluent in French
  • Experience in security or safety lockout sales

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $104,000 USD - $152,500 CAD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a role-based sales incentive plan.
