Job Description
The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. The Telecommunications Structures Department is part of the "Operational and Digital Technologies" sector, which gives us access to high-level professionals who can push the boundaries of traditional structural engineering. Whether it is in structural dynamics, digitization and valorization of digital data, through the use of drones for structural surveys, the environment we offer you will allow you to participate in several promising and enriching initiatives in addition to the classic apprenticeship of the structural engineer profession
Our office in Vancouver is looking for an Telecommunications Structural Engineer to deliver engineering projects in telecommunications structures in BC, Ontario and Quebec. This role will lead and supervise the design and analysis of unique telecommunications structures, coach and develop more junior engineers and technicians on the team as well as develop business with current and future clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in kick-off meetings and technical coordination with team members
- Perform the design and validation of towers, reinforcements and special structures
- Design and verify foundations and anchoring systems
- Write structural analysis and other technical reports
- Participate in the coordination of the drawing of engineering drawings with the draftsmen and ensure the quality of the deliverables
- Participate in the implementation and improvement of innovative methods and tools and thus contribute to the optimization of processes
- Coordinate and verify renderings and calculations prepared by candidates for the engineering profession
- Participate in interdisciplinary projects within CIMA+
- Participate in coordination meetings with customers
- Coordinate technical project activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in structural engineering
- Be a member of a Canadian professional engineering order (P.Eng)
- Strong interest in structural calculations and technology
- Fluency in English (oral and written), French language an asset
- Excellent time and priority management
- Team player, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and interest in the design and improvement of automated calculation tools
- Asset: Knowledge of SAFI and TSTower
The expected salary for this position is from $90,000 to $115,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
