The Technical Lead will guide multidisciplinary teams in developing hardware products, manage project lifecycles, and ensure technical accuracy and client alignment.
MistyWest is seeking a Technical Lead to lead the development of innovative hardware products from concept through production. This role is ideal for an experienced engineering professional who thrives in multidisciplinary product development environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while guiding cross-functional teams.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving technical direction, supporting client engagements, and ensuring high-quality product delivery across electrical, mechanical, and firmware disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, and firmware development
- Drive product architecture, technical strategy, and engineering decision-making
- Collaborate with clients to define requirements, scope, and development priorities
- Guide products through EVT, DVT, and PVT stages of development
- Support system integration, debugging, validation, and troubleshooting activities
- Ensure products are designed for manufacturability, reliability, and scalability
- Contribute to project planning, technical reviews, and risk management activities
- Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in hardware product development
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Familiarity with PCB design experience using tools such as Altium Designer
- Mechanical CAD experience using SolidWorks, Onshape, or equivalent platforms
- Hands-on experience with debugging, testing, and system integration
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment
- Experience developing embedded systems and firmware-integrated products
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and product certification processes
- Experience working directly with external clients or stakeholders
- Understanding of DFM, DFA, and production scaling considerations
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting team development
- Experience working in a consulting or product development services environment
- Exposure to IoT, robotics, medical devices, industrial automation, or consumer electronics
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping and lab equipment
- Experience with manufacturing partner coordination and supplier engagement
