What We’re Looking For
Are you a motivated student with an interest in construction, finance, or risk management? Join our industry-leading Surety team at HUB International for a hands-on summer student experience.
As a Summer Student in the Surety Department, you will be working as a Team Administrator to support the team in delivering innovative and effective solutions to our clients while gaining valuable industry knowledge and mentorship. This summer opportunity offers exposure to core Surety operations and the potential for continued opportunities beyond the summer term.
The Summer Student will work in office out of our Burnaby Still Creek head office location, which is centrally located near Brentwood Town Centre and Gilmore station in the Willingdon Business Park.
The expected start date is May 5, 2025.
Requirements
- University or College students in currently in their 4th year of their program
- A quick learner with an interest in construction, finance, or insurance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a team environment.
- A proactive and professional attitude with a willingness to grow and take on more responsibility over time.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn proprietary systems (e.g., EPIC).
- Educational background in business, finance, or related fields is a plus.
A Day in the Life
- Assist with the review of bid documents and preparation of standard surety documentation, including sunshine letters and surety bonds, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Help with data entry and documentation in EPIC (client management software), including invoice preparation and electronic file management.
- Support the Surety team and Producers in delivering client service and construction advisory tasks.
- Participate in team meetings and learn how Surety solutions are developed and communicated to clients.
- Conduct basic research to help identify client and market needs, contributing to the development of tailored Surety solutions.
- Shadow senior team members to learn about client engagement strategies and the broader Surety industry.
- Contribute to internal projects, presentations, and process improvements as assigned.
- Assist with administrative duties related to client service plans and departmental operations.

What We Offer
