As Tax Manager, you’ll be leading the short-term and long-term International, Canadian and US tax projects at STEMCELL. You’ll be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate global tax compliance, monitoring transfer pricing risk and identifying and implementing domestic and international tax planning opportunities. Importantly, you’ll also be serving as a tax technical resource to all members of the business and managing relationships with key financial service providers as needed to support STEMCELL’s tax function.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage external and regulatory audits and examinations as required, ensuring appropriate audit documentation is available

  • Review International and Canadian corporate income tax filings and oversight of indirect sales tax filings and payments

  • Lead global tax planning and evaluate opportunities for operational improvements to drive efficiency and automation in an expanding and growing business

  • Support STEMCELL’s worldwide research and development tax credit applications and filings, collaborate with external advisors and internal teams to ensure the accuracy and justifiability of claims 

  • Review intercompany pricing arrangements between related business entities including analysis of transfer pricing documentation, planning and dispute resolution

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience and the professional designation of CPA or Chartered Accountant

  • Completion of CPA In-Depth Taxation Course or LLM (Tax) considered an asset

  • Ability to build positive relationships with partners at all levels within the organization and communicate the benefit of tax initiatives

The annual salary for this job ranges from:

$98,900.00 - $148,300.00

STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
