Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a proven leader for the position SVP, Canadian Market to lead our high-performing field sales teams and drive the growth across key industry relationships. This senior leader will be instrumental in shaping and executing our strategy, deepening industry engagement, and ensuring we deliver exceptional value to our members and partners.

This role requires a results-oriented leader with deep experience in B2B sales, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of building strategic alliances within relevant industry sectors. You will be responsible for mentoring and working alongside our field sales team, aligning regional efforts with corporate goals, and cultivating influential partnerships that extend our market reach and brand authority across our Vet, Breeder, and Shelter channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead, coach, and partner with our regional field sales teams to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
    • Align sales objectives with business strategy through active participation in planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, and budgeting.
    • Identify opportunities to expand market presence and optimize sales processes across regions and verticals.
  • Industry & Partnership Development
    • Establish and nurture senior-level relationships with key industry stakeholders, trade associations, and strategic partners.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums, positioning the brand as a thought leader and trusted partner.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Business Development teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and customer experience.
    • Collaborate with support teams to define and coordinate support strategies, ensuring an exceptional partner experience and readiness prior to program expansion.
    • Provide market intelligence and feedback to inform product development and innovation.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), pipeline health, and sales team effectiveness.
    • Champion the use of CRM and sales enablement tools to drive data-driven decision-making and accountability.
    • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and customer centricity.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with a strong background in field sales, partner management, Vet industry experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and grow strategic industry relationships that drive long-term business growth.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven with a bias for action.
  • Experience working with CRM tools (input systems) and sales performance systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel up to 50%

Compensation:

  • The pay range for this position is $275,000 - $325,000 on a full-time schedule.
  • Along with the base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
  • We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
