Job Description

Join a team that is shaping the future, one project at a time! At CIMA+, our Strategic Advisory team is actively helping to build a more sustainable world. Driven by innovation and commitment, the team plays a key role in the transition to a green economy by supporting our clients in their energy transition, sustainability, decarbonization, and climate change adaptation strategies.

As part of this effort, we are looking for an Analyst to join our Sustainability and Decarbonization team. In this role, you will contribute to impactful projects that support our clients’ decarbonization and climate adaptation objectives, particularly in the transportation sector, while also supporting other areas of our practice.

This is an opportunity for someone early in their career who is motivated by meaningful work, enjoys working with data, and is excited to help turn ambitious sustainability goals into actionable strategies.

Our work in sustainability and decarbonization is grounded in four core pillars:

  • Transportation Decarbonization: supporting low-carbon mobility, fleet electrification, and sustainable transportation systems
  • Sustainability and Climate Adaptation: helping organizations understand and manage climate risks while strengthening long-term resilience
  • Water and Wastewater Protection: advancing sustainable management of water resources and infrastructure
  • Energy Transition: supporting the shift toward clean, efficient, and resilient energy systems

While this role will focus primarily on transportation decarbonization, you will also have opportunities to contribute across these pillars depending on project needs and your interests.

About the Role

As an Analyst, you will work closely with consultants and senior advisors to support project delivery, contribute to analyses, and help translate data into clear, decision-ready insights for clients. You will be involved in multiple projects at once, gaining exposure to a variety of clients, challenges, and sustainability topics.

This role is well suited to someone early in their career who enjoys working with data, asking big questions, and collaborating with others to solve complex sustainability challenges. You are comfortable in spreadsheets, detail-oriented, curious about systems-level change, and motivated by work that has real-world impact. This role offers exposure to a wide range of clients, project types, and technical challenges, with opportunities to grow your responsibilities as your skills and interests evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute directly to project delivery by supporting the development of decarbonization strategies, roadmaps, and technical analyses
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, opportunities, and key insights and contribute to the preparation of reports based on analyzed data
  • Support the preparation of clear, well-structured reports, presentations, and other client deliverables
  • Collaborate with team members across disciplines to address complex sustainable transportation challenges
  • Stay up to date on developments in decarbonization, climate adaptation, and sustainability, including emerging trends, policies, and technologies.

Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering, earth sciences, environmental sciences, economics, or another relevant field
  • 1-5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, decarbonization, energy transition, transportation planning or engineering, or similar areas
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to synthesize and communicate key findings clearly
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively across multiple concurrent projects with varying timelines
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and problem-solving skills
  • Clear interest in sustainability and decarbonization, transportation planning, energy transition and along with a desire for continuous learning
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Python, etc.), and similar tools are assets (ie. GIS experience an asset)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset but not required).
