Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Forecasting & Scheduling Analyst. Supervise the Forecasting/Scheduling/Market Analyst. Develop short term GM retail, GM fleet and industry forecasts (current year and following year). Develop and maintain automated processes (using Power BI or other tools) for both new and legacy analyses and reporting. At the end of each month:
- Update the sales forecast with actual sales for the month that just closed.
- Use forecasting tools to assess retail sales upside/risk and increase/decrease the overall annual forecast as required.
- Set the monthly retail forecast for the remainder of the year.
- Interact with the fleet team to set the monthly fleet forecast for the remainder of the year.
- Create reports that summarize the retail and fleet forecasts, total and retail market share, and year-over-year comparisons.
- At the 20-day of each month:
- Estimate the expected sales & market share for the month based on sales to date.
- Prepare presentations summarizing the state of the business at the 20-day mark.
- Work with the brand and fleet teams to develop the budget retail forecast for the following year.
- Communicate approved sales forecasts each month to GMNA.
- Develop production requests (increases or decreases) required to support the sales forecast.
- Prepare presentations for senior leadership summarizing the production requests and provide insights relevant to analyses and discussions.
- Gain approval from senior leadership to proceed with production requests.
- Submit production requests to production control team.
- Attend the production schedule proposal meeting to review North American scheduling requests and summarize outcome of the call.
- Update analysis sheets with the updated production schedule when the M-Schedule is published by the production control team.
- Develop relationship with the NAMA forecasting team.
- Prepare inventory reports summarizing shipments vs sales vs inventory.
- For each model, determine the ideal inventory level required at dealerships in order to achieve the sales forecast.
- Prepare graphs to demonstrate appropriate inventory levels, show production changes, and establish sales upside/risk.
- Meet with the brand and fleet teams to discuss retail sales forecast changes and production adjustments.
- Miscellaneous reports and analyses throughout the month.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Successfully obtained a College Diploma or University Degree.
- High level of analytical ability. High level of interpersonal skills. Confidence to interact with GM Canada senior leadership.
