Supervisor, Financial Reporting & Advisory Services

Treewalk continues to grow its financial reporting group and is looking for multiple designated accounting professionals with strong public company reporting experience. Our Financial Reporting Analysts take ownership over multiple client files from a variety of different industries and if you are willing and interested, there will also be future opportunities to sit as the CFO of a listed public company after adequate training. For strong candidates, we can offer an accelerated growth path into our Manager of Financial Reporting & Advisory Services role. 

While you may be experienced as a Senior Accountant or Financial Reporting Analyst, you may be performing some supervisory activities for the first time, but there is a great team of designated professionals behind you to provide guidance and assistance. We offer clients a complete service package to assist them in timely and accurate disclosures. Our clients are from all industry sectors and are issuers on the TSX-V, CSE, NASDAQ, and the OTC.

What will your days look like 

• Preparing financial statements and the management discussion and analysis for quarterly and year end filings for various clients; 

• Completing consolidation and translation files; 

• Onboarding new clients independently with minimal support, set-up new working papers as required; 

• Assisting clients with financial analysis, preparing financial analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts; 

• Monthly variance analysis of corporate costs compared with quarterly forecasts and the annual business plan; 

• Assisting with the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for clients; 

• Lead year-end audit planning and liaising with the auditors on behalf clients; 

• Assist with continuous disclosure requirements; 

• Common complex accounting issues include accounting for acquisitions, share based payments, translations and consolidations, and preparation of memos under IFRS and US GAAP 

• Mentor staff on technical accounting issues, provide feedback and guidance  

• Review of working papers, financial statements, and MD&A on basic to medium complexity files 
  

Our ideal candidate

• Chartered Professional Accountant, or foreign equivalent 

• Having public company audit and/or financial reporting experience specifically with small to mid sized businesses is a must 

• You should have significant exposure to complex IFRS accounting issues; especially debt and equity financing transactions 

• You like looking to accounting standards and other guidance for answers rather than just following what they did last year 

• You love to work independently in an autonomous entrepreneurial environment but can still be heavily relied upon to be a supportive team member 

• You have great interpersonal skills and are comfortable working directly with clients

Annual Salary - $100,000
