Job Responsibilities:
Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated summer student to join our corporate finance/accounting department. This opportunity is ideal for individuals pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, looking to gain hands-on experience in a public company setting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in analyzing financial statements and preparing reports for management.
- Assist in performing financial variance analysis for actual vs. forecast.
- Support the budget process from data entry to financial reports.
Data Management and Entry:
- Review accounting/financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support intra-department teams within Corporate during the month-end process.
- Assist in the collection, organization, and storage of financial/accounting data/records.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and document opportunities for process improvement within the finance/accounting department.
- Collaborate with the team to implement efficiency enhancements.
Special Projects:
- Contribute to various financial projects, including accounts analysis and preparation of finance schedules for stakeholder departments.
- Engage in ad-hoc tasks assigned to gain exposure to diverse aspects of corporate finance.
Key Qualifications/Requirements:
- Enrolled in a college/university Accounting, Finance, or Business Program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of fundamental accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial software/ERP is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Adaptable with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
