The Strategic Accounts Director will be responsible for retaining and upselling clients who are launching on Garner’s newest employee benefit offering. You will collaborate with the General Manager of Health Plan Products to ensure clients on this new product have an excellent experience and achieve the expected results. As a Strategic Accounts Director you will become our client’s trusted strategic partner on plan design, bending cost trends and driving plan performance. Through your efforts, you will be responsible for driving improved Net Revenue Retention and other KPIs for your book of business. This role will report to the General Manager of Health Plan Products.
Location: Remote with up to 25% travel
Responsibilities will include:
- Work with the General Manager of Health Plan Products to onboard and advise clients on Garner’s newest product.
- Establish and manage some of the most important strategic broker and client relationships necessary to show value and effectively advise Garner’s clients
- Become our client’s trusted strategic partner on plan design, bending cost trends and driving plan performance
- Work with clients to resolve strategic problems and ensure Garner is delivering value to the employer’s health plan and members
- Monitor overall client health and execute strategic plans to proactively address key account risks
- Collaborate with product, data, and technology teams to deliver customized reports and presentations demonstrating the value and ROI of Garner
- Drive improved net revenue retention and other KPIs for your book of business
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Ideal candidate has:
- Deep health plan design and benefits knowledge, including experience employer clients on benefits strategy and cost performance
- Experience working with clients to design and implement level- and self-funded medical plans
- 7+ years of experience in a commercially-oriented account management or sales role in the employee benefits space
- A deep commercial focus with the desire to be measured and compensated via the retention and growth of your book of business
- Proven results of achieving retention and upsell targets year over year
- A self-starter with the strong desire to work in an ambiguous, rapidly evolving, and fast-paced startup environment with notable upside
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Problem solver in ambiguous situations
- Strong communicator who can effectively articulate a vision

The target salary range for this position is: $145,000 - $175,000. This position is also bonus-eligible. Individual compensation for this role will depend on a variety of factors including qualifications, skills and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans.
