Agility Robotics is a pioneer. Our robot, Digit, is the first to be sold into workplaces across the globe. Our team is differentiated by its expertise in imagining, engineering, and delivering robots with advanced mobility, dexterity, intelligence, and efficiency -- robots specifically designed to work alongside people, in spaces built for people. Every day, we break through engineering challenges and invent new solutions and capabilities that will one day make robots commonplace and approachable. This work is our passion and our responsibility: our mission is to make businesses more productive and people’s lives more fulfilling.

Location:
This position can be based either within commuting distance of our Salem, OR headquarters or remotely in the San Francisco Bay Area. For remote candidates, regular travel to Salem, 2 weeks per month, will be required.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Staff Systems Integration Engineer to join our Systems Integration & Test team. This role will focus on new subsystem and system bring-up, functional verification testing, and issue triage and root cause analysis across the entire humanoid robotic platform.
As a member of the integration team, you will work at the intersection of hardware, software, and systems engineering—bridging component development and full-robot validation. Your contributions will ensure that new prototypes come online smoothly, system functions operate reliably, and technical issues are rapidly understood and resolved.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Bring-Up
    • Lead bring-up of new sub-systems (limbs, torso, perception, energy, compute, etc.) and their integration into full humanoid robotic systems
    • Develop and execute integration plans, ensuring readiness for prototype builds and engineering verification and validation test campaigns
    • Verify hardware/software interfaces and confirm system-level interactions during early development stages
  • Test Development & Execution
    • Define and execute nominal path functional tests to confirm correct operation of robot mobility, manipulation, perception, and charging systems
    • Contribute to the development of integration-level test cases and automated test workflows
    • Track system-level performance and provide feedback for design iteration
  • Issue Triage & Root Cause Analysis
    • Serve as the first line of defense for issues identified in system bring-up, fleet operation, or functional testing
    • Drive cross-functional debugging sessions spanning mechanical, electrical, and software teams.
    • Use structured problem-solving and data analysis methods to identify root causes and define corrective actions
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with hardware design, software, and test engineers to ensure alignment between design intent, requirements, and system performance.
    • Document integration issues and outcomes in internal knowledge bases to accelerate future debugging and prevent recurrence
    • Mentor engineers and technicians in systematic troubleshooting and integration practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in system integration, bring-up, or validation of complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary integration challenges spanning hardware, software, and controls
  • Hands-on experience with system-level debugging, data logging, and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with structured problem-solving tools (Ishikawa, FMEA, 5-Whys, etc.)
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced prototyping environments with evolving designs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or other safety-critical domains.
  • Knowledge of humanoid or mobile robotic architectures and subsystems.
  • Experience with functional safety or reliability engineering practices (ISO, IEC, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency with test automation, scripting (Python, MATLAB), and data visualization tools

Why Join Agility Robotics?
At Agility Robotics, we are building the future of human-centric automation through groundbreaking humanoid robots. As a foundational technical leader, you’ll help shape a product and platform that redefines the role of robots in the workforce—developed by a world-class team committed to innovation, engineering excellence, and real-world impact.
